‘Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.’ Proverbs 22:6
Each year St. Luke’s presents a Christmas Pageant for the community of Glastonbury, CT in collaboration with St. James’ Episcopal Church. Everyone is encouraged to participate, from infants to senior citizens! We make sure to include our children with special needs and we reach out to the migrant workers in our community and their families. The Pageant is held at Beacon Woods Stables in S. Glastonbury, CT. The neighboring farms, whose fields and animals we bless, provide us with the chickens, roosters, sheep, goats, donkeys, cows, horses, rabbits, dogs, and cats for our “living nativity.” Choirs and musicians from within South Glastonbury lend their talents to us for a joyous Christmas Carol sing-a-long. Whole Foods Market and Belltown Orchards provide refreshments for all who attend. In the Christmas spirit of giving, items are donated to Carol’s Closet, an inter-faith mission that provides personal hygiene items for low-income families. Our Christmas Pageant is a special event every year for everyone who participates and attends. Together we witness and experience the the miracle of Christ’s birth and the love he has brought to our broken world.
